Thanksgiving

Image
Since Christmas is this week, I suppose it's high time to post about Thanksgiving. We spent it in sunny St. George and were graced by the presence of my sister Beck. Allow me to hit the highlights for you: Domesticism with Addison Addison helped me to make rolls and pecan pie. I don't know if it was the amazing smell or the 600 times I caught him with a mouthful of dough, but it was one of those priceless mommy moments that I'll treasure for a long time. First Annual Family Turkey Trot Nate, Grandpa and I ran our own personal 5K. Next year, I will beat Grandpa. This year...not so much. Playing in the Leaves Grandpa liked doing it more than Addison did. Hike and visit to the sand dunes at Snow Canyon We went here last year too, and had so much fun we had to do it again. Addison had the time of his life. We went on a new hike that took us to a beautiful arch. This picture is frightening, yes, but I made this little canyon by scooping sand - that's it. A Less-Than-Sneaky Peek at Bryn

For me, Bryn is one of those babies that's easy to love. She's generally happy, a good eater and sleeper, and very appreciative of whatever attention she gets. She loves to chat it up with us, and is adorable while she does it. Over Thanksgiving break she even rewarded her Daddy's patience and long-suffering with her first giggle. She's quite outgoing until somebody pulls out a camera. She is fascinated by them, so as soon as she catches sight of one she stares it down. For example: After great effort and sneakiness on my part I was able to capture the following minute and twenty one seconds of cuteness. You can also thank my sneakiness for the amazing camera work. And let's face it, this video makes obvious the fact that I'm really not all that sneaky.

I can't believe that we're parents of a 2-year-old! If that doesn't make you feel old, I don't know what will. Addison had a great birthday yesterday and was cheerful and excited about it, despite skipping out on his nap (which he's done a little too often for Mommy's tastes lately). He is such an energetic, loving, fun little guy. It seems like just yesterday we braved a blizzard early in the morning to get to the hospital. . . First day About 1 year old 2 years old! Addison's 2-year-old resume: Mad Skills: counting, reading all letters except J and Q, colors, a couple shapes, talking (several words together), uncanny sense of direction (remembers landmarks such as snowmen, tractors, horses, and gas stations like you wouldn't believe). Favorite drink: milk (pronounced "molk) Favorite activities: nursery, playing outside, playing in the loft (pronounced "woff"), reading, markers, bringing the trash can in from the road with Mommy (no idea ...
