Pirates, Teeth, and Hamsters

Image
Leah's had a couple fun events at school in the past couple months that I wanted to share. Fun event number one: Pirate day Her class got to dress as pirates. She even pulled out a tooth the night before to add authenticity to her get-up. Fun event number two: This one happened just last Friday. She got to participate in a book character convention. Each student had to read a book on their Lexile level and dress as a character from the book and give an oral book report in front of the class. She rocked it as Humphrey the Hamster from Winter According to Humphrey. It was a fun coincidence that she was this character from this book, because you may recall, Bryn did the exact same one when she was in second grade!  My buttons were bursting. I'm so proud of this girl for her hard work in school!

Ready for action! I think this is the cutest thing I've ever seen. It's Asa singing his "Silly Colored Monster" song. Johnny Appleseed Day

Piano Recital

Image
Addison and Bryn started piano with a new teacher this summer. She is excellent! Super competent with attention to detail and a kind and encouraging personality. Also like two minutes from our house. Just what we needed. They performed in their first recital with her at the end of September. Leah started piano lessons at the beginning of September, so this was her "observation recital." She'll play in the next one at Christmas time. I am thrilled with these guys's hard work and progress. They did great!
