Tracy Aviary

Image
Last week the kids and I took a trip to Salt Lake on a whim, because we found out the Tracy Aviary was $1 every Wednesday through the end of March. I've always wanted to go there, and Bryn is in love with all birds, and it was a beautiful spring day, so we just had to do it. Sometimes it is awesome to be a stay-at-home mom with no kids in school. We went in the early afternoon and had some time to kill while we waited for Nate to get off work, so I took them to check out the new City Creek Center. It's the new shopping center across from Temple Square. It is so cool. The creek runs right through the middle of the mall. They loved all the water and the bridges, and there were even fish! Walking to City Creek. They wall wanted to wear their explorer hats. Add caption Fish! When the kids got tired of the fish we headed to the food court to play on the dinosaur playground. It was so fun! Leah standing in hot lava. After playing for a good long while, we met up with Nate and headed ...

Having Kids Rocks

Sometimes it's nice to take a moment and actually listen to your kids. It's amazing to hear the things that excite them and just make them happy. They are so simple. Here are a few from yesterday. Bryn: "When I grow up, I want to be a real chicken." Addison: "I wish I was a fire hydrant. Because then I could shoot water out of myself and I could be red." Yesterday Leah hit the big ten months. To celebrate we gave her a cookie and let her have at it. Talk about happy.

Anybody else remember that one? Classic. When Leah and I went to pick up the big kids from joy school today, Leah was playing with a little wind-up fish in the car. I opened the door to get her out, started talking to her about the fish, and whaddaya know: My baby's growing up!

Miscellaneous

This post is dedicated to those pictures that are too cute to not post, but have nothing to do with anything, really. And to the letter B, without which we would be deprived of b rownies, Reese's peanut b utter eggs, and many other essentials that make life worth living. The beginning of our garden. Could you not just squeeze her!? Bryn's first time playing PBS Kids games on the computer. She felt so grown up. Teething. And another sleeping one. I can hardly stand it! Excited to have her new robe! Addison wore his nonstop for about a week after getting it. It really is too bad about the fabric. I thought I'd be a cool mom and let them pick it out on their own, and this is what I end up with. Oh yeah, and I managed to very intelligently buy about twice as much fleece as I needed for the project. So not only do I despise the fabric, but I paid about six thousand dollars for it, AND I have enough left to make robes for all our future posterity through about the eighth generati...
