A Morning at the Farm

Image
My friend Melissa invited us and our little joy school group to visit her dad's farm for "farm day." We had such a good time! There were lots of kids there from schools and preschools and the ward, but everybody got a turn to touch and look at and even feed the animals. Leah especially was in heaven. She adores all animals and got so excited every time we got close to one. The nice farmer even got out a baby goat just for her to touch. It is really so generous of these guys to open their farm up to so many eager little kids each year. Thanks Melissa! Petting the sheep Holding a hamster Another hamster Showing the hamster to Leah They got to climb on all sorts of farm equipment. Hanging out with the cows, some of Leah's faves. We got to pet and feed this cow. Petting the sleepy calves.

Adventures in Cycling

Last week we had some amazing weather. So nice, in fact, that I decided we needed to go on a little bike ride one afternoon. I have never taken my kids on a bike ride before, with or without Nate. In fact, I just barely got a bike at the beginning of the winter, for the first time since high school. I'd never ridden it before. But we'd just had all our bike tubes replaced, I'd finally figured out how to get all the tires back on the bikes and strollers, and I even figured out how to hook our little jogging stroller/bike trailer thing on the back of my bike so I could pull Leah. We just had to do it. I did a couple practice runs with the kids in the stroller through our backyard to make sure it wasn't going to fall off in the middle of a busy intersection, and I was feeling confident. The plan was to have Addison and Bryn switch off riding their bike in front of me while I pulled the other two kids. And so I reminded the kids how to use their brakes, and we were off to t...

Ahh, Spring.

I am loving all the flowers we have blooming at our house! They are so cheerful and bright and make me happy every time I look at them!  We have 9 different colors of hyacinths. My favorites are the color of butter. The daffodils are probably my favorites. We have several different varieties. These three pictures were so cute I just had to post them all.  And tulips. These yellow ones are always the first to bloom. Before long we'll be swimming in all different colors. Addison can't wait for the red tulips, his "dream flower" to bloom.

Easter Weekend in St. George

Image
First, the Easter Sunday cuteness. It's so cute it's almost painful, really. Can you believe that the two of us actually made all that cuteness? It boggles the mind, I tell you. I made Bryn's Easter dress. It was my first time ever putting in a zipper, and I must say I rocked it (minus an inch or two on the end that you can't unzip.) The rocking of the zipper almost makes up for the fact that the bodice should've been a size smaller. Nothing a safety pin didn't take care of, though. Easter Sunday was great. We got to sing with Dad's choir in church, and we had a scrumptious dinner with all the family who were in St. George. We packed the rest of the weekend full with all sorts of fun. Decorating eggs: Hunting for eggs: I didn't get any pictures of the "night before" hunt. Lindsey and Micah set one up in the backyard in the dark with flashlights! So fun! Nate remembers doing that when he was little. That same night we snuck out with Lindsey and ...
