Lots of Fun on Halloween

We have been livin' up the Halloween season this year. I really wanted to use it as an excuse to spend quality time with the kiddos doing fun stuff during the day and I think we've done pretty well. Here are some of our projects from throughout the month. Tissue ghosts Q-tip skeletons Balloon jack-o-lanterns Spider cupcakes The kids really enjoyed making the crafts and decorating their rooms with them. I've enjoyed setting aside a little quality time just for them. The fabulous Indian summer we've gotten has let us be a little lazy with cleaning up the yard for winter, but it's given us some nice sunny days to do some of this. Just had to toss this one in. He's in a hole that we dug potatoes from. Any guesses on what he decided to be for Halloween?  We lucked out one nice Saturday and just happened to be at the nursery when they were giving hayrides to their pumpkin patch. G.G. Comes to Play

Earlier this month, my Grandma (or G.G. to the kids) came out to Utah to visit her old stompin' grounds and all the family that has ended up out this way.  I was spoiled growing up, because she lived in a little cottage at the edge of our backyard, so I spent many afternoons on her couch chatting with her while she worked on one crocheting project or another. She was also my seminary teacher in high school. I loved seeing my kids have a chance to get to know her a little. Our little family got to take her down to see Temple Square while she was here and we had a great time. The flowers are always so pretty! That weekend we got together with the whole extended clan for a barbecue at my Aunt Chris and Uncle LaMar's house. They have our dream yard. My Uncle LaMar is a vet, and they have a lot of pets, including five horses and a turkey.
