Happy Birthday Dear Brynny

Image
It is crazy to think that this time a year ago Nate and I were in the hospital with about an hour of labor left. I can't believe my little Bryn Annalee is one today! She is such a sweet baby and I can't imagine our family without her. I love that her little tongue sticks out so much of the time. I love watching her play with Addison. She's our little "sober child," but catch her at the right minute and she'll smile and laugh like crazy. She has five teeth! Everyone always comments on her tan skin. She came out that way, but her hair started out very dark and has changed to light brown with a little bit of curl. A few fun facts about Bryn Favorite food: Fruit. We have yet to find any she doesn't like. She also loves spaghetti, which we're having for her birthday supper. Favorite activities: Leafing through books/reading them with Mom and Dad, playing in the wading pool, peek-a-boo, being chased, looking at pictures of the family, helping with the dishwa...

Coldwater Canyon

Happy Pioneer Day! (a couple of days late...) We spent our Pioneer Day sweating like dogs in the yard and hiking with the kiddos. Nate picked a hike that claimed to be good for a hot day, packed some snacks, and we were off. Coldwater Canyon was beautiful! The trail was basically deserted - we saw one group of people on our way out and that was it. No clue what this thing is, but it was at the trailhead and we thought it was cool. The kids did great on the way in. Addison is really into waterfalls these days. He considers even water making a drop of a half inch a full-blown waterfall, so after we told him we were going to see some, he led the charge up some pretty wild switchbacks without even batting an eye. Brynny was content riding on Daddy's back. I got this great view bringing up the rear. The scenery was lovely and the shade was definitely welcome. There were a few fun little bridges (complete with waterfalls) that Addison and Bryn loved, and the stream was so pretty. We st...

4th of July in Georgia

Image
We spent the 4th with most of my family in GA and had a GREAT time. We got brave (and too cheap to pay for a week of parking at the airport) and took the train and bus to and from the airport. Pretty intense, but not half as bad as I expected. And it only cost $8 total. Can't beat that. The kids did g reat the whole way there. I think they enjoyed not being trapped in carseats. The collage hits a lot of highlights such as: Kaylyn's 6th birthday, fhe with the extended family, pool time, ping-pong and tether ball, firecrackers, and Nate's first experience with bald (boiled) peanuts. We spent a day at Lake Hartwell and rented a couple jet skis. It was so fun! Nate and I took Addison out once. He was a little freaked out, but did okay. Jenna and Nate and I were out on the lake, and I was a skilled enough driver that I dumped everyone off the jet ski, including myself. Addison and Bryn really had fun on the whole trip. They both turned into little fish - especially Addison. He l...

It's Worth It

Image
As I unbuckled Addison's carseat at church last Sunday we had this little exchange: Me: You look so handsome today, buddy! Addison: You're pretty like a princess. And Brynny's pretty like a princess. Love this boy! p.s. thanks to my cousin Chelsea for this amazing picture! More of these to come.
