Halloween, Halloween, lots of fun on Halloween...

5 steps guaranteed to get you in the mood for Halloween:

#1: Stand back and appreciate the spooky things you already have.
Athena may be my archenemy, but she is a black cat.
Our house, being from the 1800s, is pretty scary, but it came with a bonus: a mural of an owl on Addison's wall. We can't decide whether to keep it because of the major work someone put into it (and because it's cool in a strange way), or to paint over it. Let's just say that owl ain't from Winnie the Pooh.

#2: Make ghosties out of tissues.

I thought Add wouldn't care about them, so I made them solely for my own selfish benefit, but every morning he takes great pleasure in batting them around before we leave his room.

#3: Carve pumpkins for FHE
We watched the Charlie Brown about the Great Pumpkin, and then popped in a CD of Vince Guaraldi (the guy who writes the Charlie Brown music) and went to town on our pumpkin. This is actually the first time we've carved pumpkins together, and I discovered that Nate is unbelievably good at it. The eyes don't even have corners!

#4: Buy candy and other Halloween goodies at the store.
We got this pumpkin bucket at Walmart for a dollar. I put a few blocks in it in hopes that the noise would hold Add's attention for a few moments, and was blown away by my boy's skills.

#5: Flex your domestic muscles and make costumes.
Our little helper loved the batting. Stay tuned to see how they turned out.

  1. Addison is a super cleaner-upper! Count yourself blessed (as if you don't already I'm sure). About that mural.. hmmm... it is pretty cool and must've taken someone a heck of a long time, but I dunno, it's something about that owl's lazy eye. It just isn't right.

  3. I think I am in love with Addison and I haven’t even met him yet! One day I will! Can you do me a favor? Can you comment on Annah’s blog post about there puppy? Nate is really excited about it and sad that no one is making comments about it. It would make them really happy!
    Thanks! And speed the word!
