First Step


This little sweet pea of ours took his first step last Friday! Mommy and Daddy got a little too raucous in our celebration, though, and he ended up getting scared and crying for about five minutes. I think he's going to reach Daddy's goal for him to be walking all over the place by Christmas.

    Congrats, Addison!!! Wow, does part of you feel like your life is over? Or like you're about to start a major weight-loss program? Jonathan is getting close to crawling, so that's sorta how I feel :)

    Congratulations on having a walker! I don't know how old Addison is, but Benjamin didn't walk till he was 15 months, so I was SO excited when he did it! Now you have your hands less full (sort of).

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
