Just Around the Corner?



Dear Little Yellow Flowers,

I hope you know how happy it made me when you suddenly appeared by the front walk last week. You're so cute and small and I wasn't expecting anything like you for at least a few more months. I get worried every time the temperature drops below 30 or so or when it snows that you won't make it. But every time I peek out the window you're still there looking happy. I guess I'm just trying to say that you make it possible for me to believe that we won't be in an arctic tundra forever. Thanks.

P.S. You're awfully nice for letting Addison smell you 50 times a day.

    *GASP* How BEAUTIFUL!! Do such pretty things really exist?? You have a tender mercy growing in your yard. :o) Enjoy it for all those of us who really do live in a barren, arctic wasteland.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
