The loft

Nate here. Despite the fact that none of the doors close right and one of the bathrooms has a brown sink, toilet, and tub, we sure love our old house. And since we moved in, Michelle has had her eye on the loft. For many months, it served as storage, and was an absolute wreck. Luckily we don't have any pictures of those dark times. But here's what it looked like, partially cleaned up.

Before

Mom and Abbey came up in February and helped paint, and since then, Michelle has worked like a woman possessed to make it the coolest playroom on the planet. And I'm sure you'll agree she's succeeded.

After
Thanks for the modeling help, son.

Addison likes to stand on the chair and look for buses out the skylight.

Chalkboard paint. $8 at your local Wal-Mart.

Yeah, the chairs are girly. But the Finding Nemo table is the bomb.

Now if only we could figure out how to cool it off up there, without having to install another A/C system...

  3. That looks so awesome!! Oh... and so you feel a bit better... I grew up in a house that had a bathroom w/ a brown sink and toilet.. yellow walls and orange/brown designed linoleum... and let me tell you.. it's still like that!! I have much respect for the brown bathrooms :-) They are really a diamond in the ruff hehe...
