Snafu #1

Well, the surgery is off until the 27th. Nice. Nate is sick as a dog with what appears to be a flare-up of his Crohn's disease - the first, I might add, since January. Seriously, what are the chances? So although I do want to be done being pregnant asap, we are now willing the baby not to come very early, since the surgery will be less than a month before the due date.

    First of all, I'm so sorry! Secondly, you probably shouldn't jinx yourself by numbering your snafus. And thirdly, try to look on the bright side. Maybe in treating him the doctors will discover something that will help them perform the surgery better. Or maybe his body wasn't quite ready for the operation, and so Heavenly Father stepped in and postponed it. Either way, you're still in our prayers. Love you!

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
