Addison the Big Boy
About the time we brought Bryn home, this guy decided to grow up all of a sudden. He's left his high chair behind (because he could climb in, buckle and unbuckle, and stand up in it) in favor of a sleek new booster seat; the big boy bed that was a no-go a couple months ago is working out great these days (mainly because Mom and Dad don't want little Flipper in their room forever). The list goes on and on and he adds to it every day. Here are a few more examples.
Mommy's little helper
Yesterday he played at the sink for the better part of an hour while I canned tomato sauce. He washed dishes, drank the water, and took a bite out of about half the tomatoes. And he was content to do it all by himself.

Make-believe
Last night while I was rocking him before bedtime, he was drinking a bottle and holding his little stuffed animal, Bucky. Out of the blue he started grinning from ear to ear, took the bottle out of his mouth, and held it up to Bucky's and made drinking noises. Mommy's heart melted. It was so cute!

Potty time
We are not at all trying to potty train this boy. But I think he's trying to do it himself. He definitely WENT TO THE POTTY AND ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING yesterday!

Little Punk
That blue in his hair? It's not natural.
Swingset daredevil
He actually does this quite gracefully most of the time, unless Mommy is trying to get a video.

Sweet big brother
Addison LOVES Bryn. He is always trying to share everything with her - toys, drink, food, etc. Every morning he runs over to her bassinet to peek at her and make sure she's okay. Can you say heartwarming?

Conversationalist
I have gotten very used to monologuing all day every day. I'll actually be talking to the kids, but they don't really seem to care for the most part. For some reason I do it anyway. I couldn't believe it when a week or so ago I asked Add something like, "Should we go make lunch?" and I looked over and he was nodding! His vocabulary is growing exponentially and becoming easier to understand too.

That swingset nosesdive is the funniest thing I've ever seen. Give him a squooshin from his Aunt Shauna for me.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, him nodding is just too dang cute!! What a cutie!! I heard that kids are supposed to regress when they get a new sibling, but not him! He's such a good big bro :)
