Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication

Yesterday instead of church, all of Utah (or at least the Wasatch Front) got to participate by satellite in the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple dedication. It was a really cool experience, made even more pleasant by the fact that kids had to be 8 years old to attend, so we had some friends watch Add and Bryn. We actually got to go to the open house a few months back. We got the chance to take a tour of the temple, and it is beautiful!Bryn is obviously still in the oven at this point.

If you look really closely at the windows with lights on in this picture, you can see one of my favorite details - little etched out stars.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
