Halloween's Coming!
I can't believe that we've arrived in mid-October already. I guess that's good in a way, because it means the weather is convincing me that we're still in September at the latest. It's also scary, because if things keep going at this rate, Christmas will be over before I get the Thanksgiving turkey in the oven. Here and there, though, I get a little reminder that Halloween is upon us.

And although this picture does it no justice, this is a tarantula. In the wild. Nate and I almost tripped over it while we were out hiking in St. George a few weekends ago. I applaud my own bravery, because that is my shoe. And my foot is in it. If you're unimpressed by the size of the spider, click on the picture and imagine how much of my shoe the tarantula would cover if it was on top of it. Just typing that gives me the heebie jeebies. We tried everything we could think of to get a better picture, but our camera was basically dead and no amount of shaking, switching off and on, or pleading would convince it to give us another shot.
Apparently Addison wants to be a ghost. He's experimented so far with flour and Desitin.
Bryn is diligently working on her costume as well. She told me she wants to be a sumo wrestler. Check them thighs!
AHHHHH I can't believe your foot was that close to that spider. I don't even like being in the same room as a tarantula when we go to the Butterfly Museum.
ReplyDeleteOh man. I bet that Desitin was a pain to wash off. I hate the consistency of that stuff. I'm a Triple Paste girl, myself. :)
