FHE at the Dinosaur Park

For family home evening this past Monday we went to the Dinosaur Park for the first time. It is really cool! They've done a great job of making a museum interesting and fun for kids. Addison is something of a dinosaur expert these days, thanks to the show Dinosaur Train, so he recognized several of them. Inside there are robotic dinosaurs and some dino skeletons and rocks.


Outside there's this huge trail system with tons of big dinosaur statues. There were dinosaur sounds that were a little scary for Addison sometimes, but he was very brave. The kids both had a ball, and therefore so did Nate and I.

Addison and I played house in this big skull. He made several dinners and scooped out chairs for us in the sand.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
