Addison Turns 3

I cannot believe it, but Nate and I are parents of a three-year-old! December 1st was the day, but we celebrated the day before because of school/YW schedules. Addison had his all-time favorite dinner, cream tuna, and we followed it up with presents and a stegosaurus cake. Before the party, he told me that he didn't want any "fire" on the cake. We put it on anyway, though, and he did just fine.

I think his favorite presents are a doctor kit and play food and dishes for his little kitchen. He's doing a great job of sharing with Brynny, too. Happy birthday, sweet Addison!

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
