Bryn's New Quilt

I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of making this quilt for Bryn. It got me through a long winter. I've loved the design ever since I saw it (as a baby quilt) here. It was so fun to pick out a million different fabrics and to see it all come together. I'm pleased as punch with the finished product. Now we've just got to get Bryn into a big girl bed so she can actually use it. Details, details.

My mom and her friend quilted it and I LOVE how it turned out. The middle has a fun little swirly pattern and the outside has more swirlies with hearts. I love the heirloomish look the quilting gives it.
Addison and Bryn had a blast playing on the finished product. I've started one for Addison too.

    *GASP!* Shell, it's beautiful! I love everything about how it turned out. I like all the fabric, especially the paisley one on the close up picture. It looks sooooooo good and the quilting makes it extra gorgeous!

    Wow, what a beautiful quilt, I am very impressed. I remember my grandma making a quilt for each of her grandkids, and the day she brought mine over I was ecstatic! I remember playing on it for what seemed like hours while she and my mom talked.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
