Georgia Vacation - Kaylyn's birthday and the 4th

Kaylyn had a birthday while we were in Georgia, so we all got to celebrate with her! 





It's a tradition in our family to take a family picture at all the birthdays. I'd say Kaylyn had a pretty impressive turnout!



Part of our 4th of July celebration included frosting some delicious sugar cookies. Emilee has some serious frosting talent - way to marry up, Russell!
We also had a good ol' weenie roast on the 4th. We had a great time laughing as we watched each other trying to sit on the tiny camp chairs without falling over, just like in the good old days. 




Bryn seriously dug the macaroni salad.



Haha - Beck must be beautiful.



Emilee was the choco/marshmallow regulator when we made s'mores. I've gotta say that Reese's instead of Hersheys in s'mores is the way to go.



Bri and Bryn. Side note - their names are really close - Brianna Elise and Bryn Annalee.  If you say them out loud it's a little crazy.



Front row seats for our own personal fireworks display. There was a set of bum prints bent into the hood of Dad's car after this.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
