The Beginning of the End
(I feel like if I read that title out loud everyone would snap because it's so poetic.)
Welp, hello trimester #3! Woohoo! We are currently 27 weeks and a day, to be exact.
Baby update:
Apparently if le bebe was born today it'd have a 90% chance of survival, weigh about 2 lbs 3 oz, and be 9ish inches long from crown to rump. I'm thinking that's pretty impressive.
The baby is very active. It's amazing to just sit and stare at my stomach when it's in there swimming around and to not only feel but watch the movement.
Names, you ask? Yeah, pretty much no clue. We have a lot of options that we agree on in the girl department, but if this little guy is a boy, who knows. Nate's really digging names that sound like they belong to wizards, such as Phineas and Artemis (no offense if that's your name). As for me, my most recent suggestion has been Mark. AKA, we're getting nowhere fast.
Mommy update:
Between pregnancy, winter, and my inability to lay off the nutella, I am approaching the size of Montana. In order to get a photo for this post I made Addison take like 10 pictures and finally got him to stand on a chair in hopes that it would reduce the double chin, etc. It didn't help and we finally just went with it.
Nate and I are actively preparing for a natural delivery. I for one am gaining a lot of confidence as I learn more about the process, although it's still a scary thought. We've toured and chosen a hospital and are working our way through videos and cds in hopes that we can get some good pain management techniques down pat enough to at least feel prepared.
I'm still sleeping okay, which is good, because I stay tired pretty much all the time, although getting out of bed in the morning often involves a lot of groaning and popping and stiffness. I've been doing "Baby Yoga" (don't you judge me) with a pregnant friend 3 days a week and it actually seems to be helping with backaches and general stiffness and soreness.
Sometimes when pregnancy really gets to being a bummer, I have decided it helps to look at the big picture. The things that are happening to my body are amazing. Even though it's not super fun all the time and I feel like a whale, my body is handling pregnancy like a champ. It's like it was made for it. Hmmm . . . I'm so excited to add another little one to the brood and I'm looking forward to watching Addison and Bryn react and grow with our new addition.
i think you look great, and good for you for doing yoga! that must take a lot of discipline, especially when you feel tired all the time. best of luck with a natural delivery too - i admire anyone who evens attempts that. :) yay for third trimester!
ReplyDeleteDude! Stop giving out my names. People are going to steal them!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! And you don't even look close to a whale.. Good luck with natural delivery. You are one brave sole...
ReplyDeleteNate; you call your wife dude? No one would EVER steal those names!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I adore this post! (I always adore your posts) Jeff always wanted to name a baby boy Walter. And sorry if anyone loves the name Walter, but my response was always, "If I give birth to a 90 year old man, then I will consent to naming him Walter." How we ever agreed on a name for our son, I'm not really sure.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you look adorable. Eat all the nutella you want. It's very yummy on mini Nilla Wafers. But only the mini ones. I'm not sure why.
Oh Man! You are so dang cute! I miss you and your fam! I actually love the name Finn, which is close to one Nate is liking. I think you'll do great with a natural delivery.
