Tracy Aviary

Last week the kids and I took a trip to Salt Lake on a whim, because we found out the Tracy Aviary was $1 every Wednesday through the end of March. I've always wanted to go there, and Bryn is in love with all birds, and it was a beautiful spring day, so we just had to do it. Sometimes it is awesome to be a stay-at-home mom with no kids in school.
We went in the early afternoon and had some time to kill while we waited for Nate to get off work, so I took them to check out the new City Creek Center. It's the new shopping center across from Temple Square. It is so cool. The creek runs right through the middle of the mall. They loved all the water and the bridges, and there were even fish!
Walking to City Creek. They wall wanted to wear their explorer hats.

Fish!

When the kids got tired of the fish we headed to the food court to play on the dinosaur playground. It was so fun!

After playing for a good long while, we met up with Nate and headed over to see the birds. It was really fun. They do a good job of helping to make the birds visible. We saw all kinds of birds - eagles, flamingos, toucans, even mating roadrunners. Wow.

The peacocks get to roam free. Addison and Bryn had fun chasing this one.

This sleeping duck was so cute! I just want to squish it!

It was a gymnastic feat to get this picture. Bryn was standing on my knee and I was holding Leah up over my head. Note to whoever makes these things: Put two on the bottom and one on the top so little kids can reach!

After the Aviary we let the kids play in Liberty Park for a little while. We got home totally exhausted and filthy, but it was a great day.
