Kays Creek Trail

The second weekend of October, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Micah came up for Dayson's baptism. The baptism was on a Saturday and that morning we snagged Grandpa and went for a hike on the Kays Creek Trail. We got the timing just right - the weather was beautiful and the leaves were simply stunning. We all had a great time, other than Bryn being a little whiny on the way back and coercing Grandpa into carrying her.



We found a castle! It's right before the trailhead.

We went anyway, in a blatant act of civil disobedience. Government shutdown my eye.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
