This year is the first year that our family has hosted Thanksgiving at our home. I was a little overwhelmed at the prospect, but made list after list until I could finally sleep at night instead of panic, and it turned out great. We were blessed to be surrounded by family. Megan and Sam and little Natalie came and spent the weekend, and Aaron and Amber and their kids came on Thanksgiving Day. We divided up the sizeable menu, and between the three families, I'd say we knocked it out of the park. We cooked and cooked and ate and ate and hardly put a dent in the food. It was wonderful to be with people we love on such a special day. We have so much to be grateful for. And despite the chaos that comes with a day like that, our home somehow felt peaceful through it all. (To me, at least.)

| Megan is the pie queen of the planet. Here she and Bryn are making apple pie. Note to Megan: Your hair looks extremely long and luscious in this picture. Are you sure you're ready to cut it?! |

| What would Thanksgiving be without a lot of football? Sam's dad and sister were at the Cowboy's game. We also got to throw the football around outside for a little while. 50 degrees and sunny was definitely weather to be thankful for! |

Nate cooked an excellent (and gigantic!) bird. I'm a lucky girl to have somebody so willing to help out in the kitchen and with cleaning and set-up and with kids. He even raked leaves.
In truth, this video is not actually from Thanksgiving. But it's cute anyway. |
And the feasting!

| Addison, Bryn, Sonnet and Embry. |
 |
| Aria, Trinity and Dayson. Side note: Dayson LOVES turkey. I think he had five helpings and I made a little "to go" packet of it for him too. |

 |
| It was so fun to have this cutie patootie around all weekend. I can't believe how much she's grown in the last month or so! |
 |
| The setup worked great. Everybody could see everybody and get to the food without too much trouble. We put down some sticky plastic on our carpet to keep it from getting too terribly covered in food and it worked well. |
 |
| The pies. Wow. All the pretty ones were made by Megan. Amber made the pumpkin. I think chocolate was the favorite - especially with the kids. |
 |
| Leah seemed to catch the vision of feasting. That girl put some food away! |
