Zjenna

My sister Jenna spent the last six months in Idaho and we had the pleasure of seeing her several times while she was here. I am the number two child and Jenna is number eight, with roughly eleven years between us, so I graduated from high school when she was sevenish. I had so much fun getting to know the grown up Jenna. We laughed and cried and stressed and schemed together. All those sisterly things you're supposed to do that we have never really had the chance for. Also, my children adore her. She spent a lot of time wrestling each of them to the ground, tickling, playing, and rocking Asa to sleep. I wanted to blog about a couple of good times we had. And also put up amazing pictures for posterity. Heh heh.

After we came back from Thanksgiving, Jenna stayed with us for a few more days and celebrated Addison's birthday and just hung out. It was great. One of the nights I decided to try a Pinterest hair experiment with her as the very willing guinea pig. The basic idea is that you wrap up finger curls, hold them in place with tin foil, chomp each little foil package with a straightener, and voila - luscious curls!
Here's the way it progressed:

Ta dah!

Ain't she cute?

 The unveiling

Well wow.
I can't stop laughing as I'm looking back through these pictures.

Not exactly the expected outcome, but there's potential in there somewhere, right?

Before her final return to Georgia, Jenna decided that we needed to go and get our nails done. So we did. We are SO fancy. And the girls thought it was neat.
I'm pretty sure the last time I'd had my nails done was for my wedding. It's nice to have the fabulosity police show up every once in awhile and remind me that I am a girl.

Snowmen and polka dots! So cute!

Also, this:
Somebody rescue that poor baby.

A final story. Jenna came to nursery with me one Sunday while she was here, and managed to misplace a pill while there. We searched high and low to no avail, and finally just gave in and decided that some lucky child would be cramp-free that day. I found the pill a week later in Leah's pants drawer. Magical!

  1. HAHAHA. I love all these pics. I've been wanting to try that same hair thing on someone! Glad someone did it for me.
