Leah is Three

On May 7, Leah turned three! She was so excited for her birthday this year. It was so fun to tell her that morning that her birthday had finally come!

We baked her cake during breakfast. She picked a polka dot one and we dyed it pink.

Asa had a doctor appointment that morning and had to get shots. When the nurse learned that Leah was a birthday girl, she gave Leah two suckers and four stickers!

She was so excited to get a card from Gramps and Grammie and co in the mail.

Leah went crazy when Daddy came home from work carrying these balloons. She was ecstatic, and squealed accordingly.

We made pineapple pizza for her birthday supper. Here she is hamming it up for the camera.

She chose to do presents before cake, so we headed into the family room to unwrap them. She was totally thrilled with every last thing she opened. It makes me just want to give her presents daily, because it's so gratifying to see her open them.

Can you tell she loves pink?

Leah loves to ride the scooter to the bus stop several times a day. Now she doesn't have to borrow Addison or Bryn's anymore!

My mom helped me figure out how to put together a baby backpack that Leah can bring on hikes. There's a space for her baby and also for snacks and supplies.

Nate's parents have a light-up doll at their house that Leah has always loved. She was thrilled to get one of her very own in the mail!

On to the cake!

This picture makes me want to cry a little bit because she's so darn cute.

We did a Winnie the Pooh cake.

The marshmallow trees were a big hit, which was nice because she still doesn't like cake very much. She did like the ice cream, though, which interestingly enough was birthday cake flavored.

The party-goers.

Taking her birthday scooter for a spin.

Somebody must've known she'd be getting an umbrella for her birthday, because it rained a little!

Leah is very smart and articulate. She is likes to hear stories of things that have happened recently, and asks us to tell them over and over. She loves her nursery class and her sister and brothers. She is wrapping her head around the days of the week and is always asking which day it is so that she can plan ahead for upcoming events that she knows about. Leah lives for family night and movie night. She is getting better and better at sharing and playing well with her older siblings. Leah has a smile full of sunshine that can light up a room. We love our sweet three-year-old Leah.

Our birthday girl.

And here's a birthday interview.

  1. She is so fabulous!!! I loved all the pictures. You're family is so adorable! Can't believe she's already 3! Seems like it was just yesterday she was painting on my waterproof mascara as I got ready to go into the MTC...
