Halloween

Halloween was fun this year. The kids loved their costumes and we had fun at the ward costume parade the day before Halloween. We only went to a few houses on Halloween night. Brother Grove, and the Beehive House and the Allreds (who totally had a caramel apple waiting for each of the kids because they are awesome) were the main ones on the agenda. Lots of cute pics and LOTS of candy, the majority of which I finally dumped in the circular file four days later.

Addison and Bryn with our neighbor, Brother Jessop on the way to school. He meets us at the bus stop most mornings with a challenge for the kids to do at school, and then meets us in the afternoon so they can report back.

Costume prep.

Loved having Brianna here for several days around Halloween.

And the costumes. They were so darn cute.

 Asa was a gumball machine.

Leah picked Snow White, after being inspired by a smutty pattern of an adult Snow White costume at Joann.

Bryn was a flamingo. Thanks to Shauna for the costume help! Juliann was a flamingo last year.

Addison and I had big plans for a sweet R2D2 costume, and even had all the supplies ready. But at the last second (seriously, like the day before) he dug around the costume box and put together a Harry Potter costume that he totally rocked.

A little trip to the dollar store turned Brianna and I into matching fairy princesses.

We even went all out and had matching nails. (Bri's were purple.)

Best costume on the planet. Also from the dollar store. I think it's an alligator.

The whole fam.

And the kids. I could just squeeze all those guys.

Seeing double! This is Addison and his friend Ben at the ward dinner. Two Harry Potters.

The loot! No throw up this time.

Inspired by tales of his Uncle Russell and his membership in "warhead club" from the bus, Addison gave one a shot. Not his fave.

The great 2015 candy swap.

Leah donated all the candy that had any hint of chocolate to the adults, because she doesn't like it. That's what I'm talking about!

Sugar levels were high, with interesting results.

Halloween night after trick or treating, we let the kids eat spooky finger foods on a picnic blanket in the family room for dinner. We watched Hotel Transylvania while we ate. Loads of fun.
