Ringing in 2017

For new year's eve, we went to our friends' house for a fun appetizer/game/hang out party. It was fun to catch up with Sallie and Chris and their family. The kids spent their time snacking and watching Zootopia downstairs while Nate and I got to visit. We lasted until about 10:00, and then headed home. Leah and Asa went right to bed. Then Addison and Bryn decided to stay up till midnight with us! Wow! So Addison and Nate played Myst on the computer and Bryn and I played the game of Life. They were wild and crazy by the end, but they felt so grown up, and we had a great time with them.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
