Michelle's Side of the Family Comes to Town

A couple weeks ago, Jenna received her endowment. What a special event in our family! The way schedules worked out, it made the most sense to do it here, in the Bountiful Temple. So we got to have tons of my family in town, which is a rare and most delicious treat. Jenna and Preston came, of course, and Brianna and Mason, Mom and Dad, and Rebecca and her brand new baby, Austin. It was a house full of fun!  It was a very fast visit, but it was just wonderful.

The first day we got to have Bri and Beck and Austin tag along to ballet and the grocery store, and then we decided that we'd better go to lunch at Zupas. From there it's all a blur, but more people came, we hung out, stayed up way too late, got to show off our new house, and generally had the time of our lives.

After the session at the temple, we took the DQ by storm. I cannot believe this actually happened! Look at all these beautiful people!!!!

Asa adores his Uncle Mason. Here they are with matching mustaches.

My parents always bring their A-game when they're around the grandkids. Quality time is the name of the game. The kids love 'em.

Beck and Austin, the calmest baby on the planet.

We all enjoyed getting to know Austin.

Preston is so nice to our kids. Here he is doing Trios with the girls.

These guys . . . so loveable.

Grammie and Austin

Addison got a chance to show off his new maps that will go on the wall of his room . . . that is, if we ever finish it. Bri and Beck helped paint while they were here!

Me and Mom

I loved just hanging around together. That was special enough - no need to augment it with very many activities.

Sleep deprived, overwhelmed, OD'd on lunch lady peanut bars, and loving it!

Always cookies.

These guys went for a run.

And then Bri and Mason cooked their signature dish, discata.

We played lots of Quiplash. Jenna and Preston left on Saturday to head back up to school.

I can't believe my parents were here! It was so, so fun to show them our house and to hang out with them. I always come away from visits with them feeling inspired and lifted, and like I might just make it. Sunday morning we took them and Bri on a little hike on a mountain trail right by our house.

And then Gramps worked his magic to convince Asa to eat an entire half pbj. This is unheard of. Usually I'm grateful if he gets through half of a half.

My kids had lunch with my parents. I love this.

We said our goodbyes and our family headed to church while Bri and Mason took Mom and Dad to the airport.

After Mom and Dad left, I got another day or two to drag my sissies wherever I wanted. It was wonderful. They helped me make hair bows and bow ties for the upcoming wedding reception.

Timmy entertained us with his tireless efforts kneading at the tortilla factory.

We found pretty much everything hilarious.

I just do not laugh around anyone like I laugh around my family.

And we looked like zombies and silent-laughed hysterically though our 6:00 a.m. yoga class.

I miss you all! Come back soon!
