Bryn's 8th Birthday

It's hard to believe, but Bryn is an eight-year-old! Her birthday was on the 27th.

The waffles tell it like it is.

It was a great day. She and I went on a date that morning, then Dad surprised her and showed up with 8 balloons at lunchtime. 

After lunch it was all business for me and the kids because we had a party to set up! Everybody helped out and we had a lot of fun getting ready for it together. 

It was a water party, and so we set up the slip-n-slide and wading pool, and put a sprinkler under the trampoline. That's all it took for Bryn and her friends to go to town. They had so much fun playing together!

 After about an hour we had presents and cake and ice cream and followed it up with a water balloon toss and more playtime.

After her friends went home, Bryn and the other kids played with her new toys for awhile, and then some members of the Primary presidency came over to talk to Bryn about her baptism, which is coming up on Saturday! They went over the covenants that she'll be making, and what it means to be baptized by immersion, and they talked about receiving the Holy Ghost. They also gave her a white jumpsuit and some instructions for her baptism day. She also received her Faith in God booklet.

That evening we had Bryn's birthday supper - peas and ravioli, and opened family presents. Then we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream. It was a fun day for all of us.

And here's our Brynny at 8. She's a sweet, beautiful, smart, talented girl and a calming influence in our home.
