Thanksgiving 2017

This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our house! We enjoyed having members from both sides of the family around.

We got to have Jenna and Preston and Toby around for a couple weeks while they were in the midst of a cross-country move. These kids adore them!



Bri and Mason came for Thanksgiving and got us all off our behinds to go do a day-of Turkey Trot. The weather was just so beautiful, and it was lovely to be outside getting sweaty.




We enjoyed spending time as a family in the kitchen. We ended up with some good eats. Preston's cheese grits were my personal faves.



The Aarons came for the big dinner and we had a packed house full of good feelings and good food.












And our thankful tree. So many blessings.

Nate the daredevil

We had one more adventure last Saturday that Nate was too embarrassed to write about. Before our hiking excursion we went to Liberty Park to feed the ducks. Addison had a great time in his stroller soaking up some rays and watching the lake and the people and the birds. We tried hard to avoid the seagulls, which are gross if you've never had much contact with them, and to get to the two ducks that were around, but competition for that bread was pretty fierce, so Nate decided to make the geese work for it (since they're the only ones that would). The documented evidence makes me wonder who was working harder, though, and who was more scared. Must be those ferocious beaks or the powerful weapons they like to call webbed feet. Notice Addison's feet in the video where you can see them.

Golden Parenting Moments

Several weeks ago, Nate woke up feeling gung-ho on a Saturday morning and decided we were going on a family sledding trip. I was a grump, but went along with it anyway. By the time we found a decent place and got a good trail worn down the kids got snow in their drawers and it was time to go. We had a great time, obviously. Poor Nate! .
