Easter Sunday! (Also April Fool's Day) (...and General Conference.)
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday this year. The day before we called "chainsaw day," because we spent the entire day with a borrowed chainsaw felling and dragging trees out of our yard. It was so much work. We're really pleased with the results. And we were really glad to have a day of rest the next day. It was truly a delightful Sabbath.
We dyed eggs and watched general conference which was full of all sorts of surprises! The most exciting one for our family was when President Nelson announced that there will be a new temple built right by us! Woohoo! We whooped and hollered and got misty-eyed all at the same time. Our kids are at very nice age for conference watching. Come October conference we'll have a new addition! How exciting!
Our egg hunt was fun. We have the best yard for hiding Easter eggs, I tell you. That was a major selling point for our house back in the day when we were househunting. (Okay, maybe a minor one.)
After multiple hunts, we came inside and the kids played with the eggs. They were real eggs - hard boiled ones. But they'd drawn faces on them and built a whole world around these eggs' identities. So they were emotionally attached. They were very choosy about who had to go when it came time for egg salad sandwiches.
Also, we made the world's most delicious cinnamon rolls. These things were heaven in the form of bread.
Easter is officially one of my favorite holidays. The earth is coming alive again, and so am I after the long dark winter. All things are literally testifying of God's Son and his resurrection, which is the most wonderful news ever given to mankind. For me, it's a day of hope and gladness and rejoicing.
That night we got invited to a flashlight Easter egg hunt at a friend's house. It was loads of fun!

A little conference-time snooze for Asa.
