Happy 4, Asa!

This sweet baby of ours turned four last month. He'd been counting the days with a paper chain starting at least 50 days before. We were all excited for him, and I think it was a great day. Four-year-old Asa loves storytime at the library, riding his bike, trash trucks, hide and seek, spiders, space, bugs, candy, money, preschool, and hanging around with the family. He's a good buddy to have around no matter what you're doing - playing, working, driving around, he's just happy to be there.

What a goofy guy!

The day before his birthday, we went on a preschool field trip - Mom, Asa, and Leah - to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. That place is so much fun. Asa's favorite part was the little tunnel you could climb up to get to the top of the tree. He also thought the police station with a jail cell was pretty cool.

Leah loved taking our orders at the little diner.

After the Treehouse, we went to McDonald's for lunch, which is a big treat around these parts. Leah and Asa were so delightful to be with and thought it was the best food in the world. They were also thrilled with their happy meal toys, which are matching arctic foxes.

The day of, we scooped up the kids from school at the end of the day and went to the park, where we played and had teeny tiny cupcakes that Ace had picked from the store.

It was a looong day for poor Asa. All he wanted to do was party! But we had to wait around for the school kids and Dad. Once they were all here, we didn't waste any time.

A spider-themed birthday card from Bryn.

Asa got this tiger from Grandma and Grandpa and named him "Softer than Ever." I could cry from the cuteness.

Fettucine alfredo with shrimp! He was excited for this birthday supper.

Instead of cake, which Asa doesn't really love (except for the frosting), we had ice cream sundaes. The ice cream was just a vehicle for as many different kinds of candy as he could think of to put on it. We had a fun time going to Winco and picking it all out.

Happy birthday, dear Asa! Cuteness overload!

Fast asleep on his magic pillow.
