Bryn is Nine!

July 27th was Bryn's 9th birthday! Grandma was around to make it a special one in the morning. She decorated the house and gave all the kids capes.

Nate and I were at the hospital getting ready to jet out of there with Emmie. We made it home around lunchtime. A baby sister is a pretty special birthday present. Right?

During the afternoon, Nate took the kids and met up with Kim's family at classic waterslides for some wet fun. We'd never been before, but it did not disappoint! They had a blast.

They played all afternoon and then came home to celebrate some more. Bryn chose ravioli alfredo with peas for her birthday supper and dirt cake for her treat.



It was fun to watch her open presents. She was pretty excited.


She got one present early - the Tuesday before, I took her to get her ears pierced! She was so brave, and they look so good! She chose her birthstone - July rubies. She can't wait for the day when she gets to change them. Also, her cousin Juliann saw Bryn's pierced ears and decided to have hers done too, on the same day!

She also got a new bike! She had way outgrown hers, and was excited to pass it down to Leah. We spent the rest of the evening out watching all the kids ride bikes around the cul de sac.

A week later we finally got our interview with nine-year-old Bryn. We are so grateful for our Brynny, who is kind, fun, calm, beautiful, the list goes on and on. She is such a special member of our family.
