Summer Shenanigans
Since school is in, I thought I'd take this opportunity to wrap up the summer blogging. So here's a smorgasbord of everything we've been up to for the past several months.
Look at this awesome artwork of Addison's!
A beautiful bouquet gathered from our yard.
A new van! Woohoo!
Bryn having a drink in the secret hideout.
Planting our garden
Asa's a top bunk man now. He and Addison moved into a new room downstairs.
Asa loves to "plant his garden" of pins in my craft room chair.
Mike in his happy place.
A mother's day hike. The kids collected a bouquet of yellow (my favorite color) flowers for me.
Capture the flag. Someone's not very happy about the end result.
A pregnancy pedicure. So luxurious.
Storytime fun for Asa.
A date with Bryn to a piano recital and the Cheesecake Factory.
On Memorial Day we took a little trip up to Logan and Providence to visit some family graves.
We stopped by the Brigham City temple on the way.
Papa's (my mom's dad) grave.
We picnicked in a park for lunch.
Stopped by the Logan temple.
And had some Aggie ice cream at Utah State.
Awwww!
Family reunion in Eden.
A hiking date for Asa and Dad.
We watched the Thunderbirds in the air show from our front lawn.
This little pal visited our yard several times and enjoyed the birdseed and a couple tomato plants.
I am seriously impressed by this writing from Bryn.
Mike got himself stuck in several trees and Nate had to save him.
He had some help from a couple choir members one Sunday.
We've gotten pretty skilled in the puzzle department. This particular one is a beast.
Fourth of July fun with neighborhood friends.
Before Emmeline was born we had a family night where we practiced taking care of baby dolls. It was a major hit. I found the kids diapering, burping, and swaddling babies for days afterward.
We went to our city's parade on 4th of July! Check out the new temple float!
Addison's first time helping Nate with the dutch oven potatoes.
We had to forego the traditional crackerjacks for 4th of July because of Bryn's appliance in her mouth. We did muddy buddies instead.
My sweet trumpet professor, Brother Brown, is retiring. A couple students put together a surprise tribute concert for him. It was awesome to be back in trumpet land for a minute. Sometimes it seems like that part of my life never happened! I was 2 weeks away from Emmie's due date, so I was embarrassingly emotional the whole time.
We had to take our kids to the BYU creamery while we were down there.
The girl loves Mike.
Kim and I took our kids to Willard Bay one day and enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and chilling on the beach with them.
I got a little crafty.
The kids did a very successful kool-aid stand.
Happy 12th anniversary to us!
Emmie loves baths.
We made some teeny muffins for the neighbors.
If every evening was like this evening, it'd be heaven.
Lots of reading.
These guys both read the entire Harry Potter series this summer.
Happy birthday to Bryn from Activity Days.
"Party in the pit." There was dancing, food and contests.
Iron man meets lemon.
Dad's brilliant fhe: I like Mike. About being nice to animals.
Dad took the kids on a hike. Asa busted his head open and had to have it stapled back shut.
Nothing makes your baby seem huge like having another baby.
The world's most epic night walk with the neighbors.
I could squeeze this girl.
The county fair! These three rode the ferris wheel.
Addison and Bryn rode the Sizzler
Asa took a turn in the crow's nest
Funnel cake.
A snoozy baby.
Pony rides!
Bryn saved her money and bought herself a fish tank with all the fixins. She has three little fish.
Squash. So much squash.
Family night launching our family theme for the school year, "Let it Shine."
Leah's brainstorming on the theme later that day.
